Srinagar, February 25 : In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the former General Secretary of High Court Bar Association and Chairman of Kashmir Council for Justice, Advocate GN Shaheen has urged Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to initiate measures for resolving the Kashmir dispute through peaceful means.
Advocate GN Shaheen in a statement issued in Srinagar in connection with the Indian Prime Minister’s proposed visit to the territory, asked him to feel the pulse of the IIOJK people and engage all the stakeholders of the dispute in a meaningful and purposeful dialogue process to settle it.
He said, “Kashmir dispute is assuming new dangerous dimensions amid hostilities, therefore, you have to rise above the political dogmatic approaches to statesmanship to bring peace and stability in the interests of the 1.75 billion people of the region.”
Mr Prime Minister how better it would be if both India and Pakistan end the hostilities and usher goodwill and friendly cordial atmosphere to improve the bilateral relations by political and diplomatic engagement at appropriate levels, he added.
Hope these words are taken not an advice but a feeble voice of the voiceless in Kashmir who aspire for peace and Kashmir resolution in the larger interests of the people of Kashmir, in particular, and billions of people in the south Asian region, in general, he maintained.
