SRINAGAR: Paying Rich Tributes To Militants Yawar Bashir And Abu Mavia Killed In Qazigund Encounter, Chairman All Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani On Tuesday Said Youth Lay Their Lives “to End The Age-old Slavery Of Their Nation” And Are Putting A Huge Responsibility On Our Shoulders To Honour These Sacrifices And Take The Movement To Its Logical End. Geelani Also Made A Telephonic Address To The People Present At The Militants’ Funeral And Reiterated That The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) Will Hold A ‘Jalsa’ (public Programme) On 15 December 2017 At Lal Chowk Anantnag. He Asked People To Attend In Large Numbers Saying It Will “symbolise” Their Attachment With The Freedom Movement And Leadership. In A Statement, Geelani While Referring To The Wish Of Slain Youth That He Should Offer Their Funeral Prayers, The Hurriyat Chairman Said, “I Myself Feel It An Obligation And A Blessing To Pray For Them, However I Am Not In A Position To Attend As I Have Been Under House Arrest For The Last Seven Years And Authorities Are Barring Me From Offering Religious Obligations.” Extending Condolences With The Bereaved Families, Geelani Said, “Our Youth Are Sacrificing Their Present For The Betterment Of Our Tomorrow. They Are Writing A History With Blood Which Puts A Huge Responsibility On Us To Safeguard These Sacrifices And Never Compromise With The Mission.” Blaming Pro-Indian Parties For The Present “appalling Situations”, The Veteran Resistance Leader Said They Are “responsible For This Forced Occupation”. He Urged People To Stay Away From These Parties And “never Bargain” With Them For Petty Interests. “They Are Opportunists,” Geelani Said And Urged People To Boycott The Upcoming Elections. “We Don’t Nourish Any Animosity Against India Or Their People Nor Do We Want To Take Any Part Of It, However (the Country) Has Forcibly Occupied Our State.” “Kashmir Is Not Integral Part Of India And Indian Authorities Should Avoid Parroting About This,” Geelani Said. “We Have Time And Again Repeated That Indian Leadership Has Made Commitment With The International Community And With Us.” “I Assure My Nation That One Day We Will Emerge As Free Nation,” Geelani Said In His Telephonic Address.
