Civilian, 2 LeT Mujahideen Embraced Martrydom In Pulwama

Anantnag: The Lashkar-e-Toiba’s (LeT) District Commander For Shopian, Waseem Shah Alias Abu Usama, And Another LeT Mujahid, Naseer Ahmad Mir Of Litter Village (Pulwama District), Were Martyred In A Gunfight With Brutal Forces At Litter Village Early Saturday Morning. A Civilian Was Martyred And Two Others Were Hit By Bullets That Government Forces Fired On Protesters Who Gathered Around The Encounter Site And Clashed With Government Troops. Dozens Of Civilians Were Injured In These Clashes, Several Of Them By Pellets, Locals Said. Two Civilians Injured By Bullets Are Being Treated At SKIMS And Bone & Joint Hospital.
The Martyred Mujaheed Have Been Identified As Waseem Shah, A Native Of Heff Village In Shopian District.
When The Gunfight Began Early In The Morning, Hundreds Of People From Litter And Adjoining Areas Tried To Storm The Site Of The Encounter In An Attempt To Help The Trapped Mujaheed Escape.
Eyewitnesses Said That The Government Forces Fired Bullets And Pellets At The Protesting People, Injuring Dozens Of Them. Three Civilians With Bullet Injuries Were Brought To Pulwama District Hospital, One Of Them, Gulzar Ahmad Mir, Resident Of Lassipora Area In Pulwama District, “brought Dead”.
Bodies Of The Slain Mujaheed Were Handed Over To Their Families By Noon, Following Which Thousands Of People Attended The Funerals. Thousands Of People Also Attended The Funeral Of The Killed Civilian, Gulzar Ahmad Mir, In Lassipora.
Clashes Continued In Many Parts Of Pulwama, Including In The Main Town, Through Most Of The Day. A Complete Shutdown Was Observed In The District In Protest Against The Killing Of Militants And The Civilian And Against The Firing On Protesting People.
