Muzaffarabad : Chairman United Jehad Council and Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Syed Salahuddin paid rich tribute to shaheed Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Afzal Guru while addressing a high level meeting.
Syed Salahuddin said that 9th and 11th February are two days of Jammu and Kashmir history when the two important personalities of Kashmir were hanged in Tihar Jail for demanding freedom and later on their dead bodies were buried in the premises of jail but the freedom struggle and slogans of freedom are continued with full force.
He said that Muhammad Maqbool Butt was hanged on 11th February, 1984, while implementing a disputed verdict of an Indian court. He said that Indian leadership had thought that in result of hanging of Maqbool Butt and creating atmosphere of terror in the state the feet of the freedom lovers will be shaken. He said that the history witnessed that thousands of Maqbool Butt were born after the martyrdom of Maqbool Butt and freedom struggle of Kashmiris is continued from that time, adding that instead of full use of force India not only could not suppress the freedom movement but even could not weaken it.
Syed Salahuddin while presenting rich tribute to Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru said that their sacrifices will bring results and dawn of freedom will certainly lit.
Syed Salahuddin also paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the ongoing week and expressed the confidence that the freedom of Kashmir is written on the wall in the result of the sacred blood of the martyrs. He said that sooner or later this will happen.
During the meeting prayers were offered for Muhammad Maqbool Butt, Muhammad Afzal Guru and other martyrs of Kashmir and it was resolved that the freedom movement of Kashmir will continue at every front.
